The Israeli Wedding

Your guide to getting married in Israel

About

Hi! I was born and raised in the United States and made Aliyah (immigrated) to Israel in my early 20s.

When I got engaged, I was shocked by the lack of practical information in English about how to get married in Israel. The vast majority of the information I needed, from dress shopping, venues, costs, and even legal technicalities(!) was obtained via word-of-mouth from friends.

While I do speak Hebrew fluently and was lucky enough to have an Israeli fiancé to negotiate with vendors, I felt that a solid English guide to Israeli weddings would have helped me tremendously during the wedding planning process.

Planning a wedding is challenging enough – and when you add on top of that a language barrier, major cultural differences and not having an Israeli mom to help you handle everything, the whole process can feel overwhelming. The Israeli Wedding is here to help you navigate the chaos of planning an Israeli wedding.

My goal with The Israeli Wedding is to provide an inclusive English language resource for other English speakers getting married in Israel. So whether you’re a new immigrant (Olah Hadasha/Oleh Hadash), you’ve been here long enough that you’re practically a sabra, or you live abroad and you’re planning a destination wedding in Israel, my aim is to give you the overview you need to make your dream Israeli wedding a reality.

On The Israeli Wedding you’ll find information on a wide range of topics, including a typical Israeli wedding budget, how to choose an Israeli wedding venue, information about Rabbinute and alternative weddings, how to find the perfect wedding dress in Israel and much more.

Finally, got a question about something not covered on the site? Feel free to reach out and leave me a comment here. I will try my best to answer your question – and if I can’t, I’ll direct you to someone who can help.

Mazel Tov!
